Thomas Ankersmit (born 1979, Leiden, The Netherlands) is a musician and artist based in Berlin and Amsterdam. His main instruments are a Serge analogue modular synthesizer, computer and alto saxophone.
Since 2003 Ankersmit regularly tours together with New York-based composer Phill Niblock and more recently as a duo with Italian electroacoustic artist Valerio Tricoli. Other collaborations have included Tony Conrad, Maryanne Amacher, Jim O'Rourke, Kevin Drumm, Axel Dörner, Gert-Jan Prins and Borbetomagus.
His first full-length CD is on Touch sublabel Ash International.
