Mr Indae Hwang
Center for Electronic Media Arts, Monash University
Hwang’s research explores the impact of aesthetics in the perception of location-based information. His work focuses on the aestheticization of artifacts, such as RFID tags, Ubisense Tags, AR Markers, and mobile devices, to connect users with digital information embedded in physical environments. By making these systems tangible and visible through their aesthetic value users are given a choice to participate in location-based information systems, becoming active rather than passive participants. Hwang is currently a PhD student in the Faculty of Art & Design at Monash University.
